BLACK JULY

Countdown has ended

When everything feels like it’s collapsing at once, it’s hard to know where to start. Career slipping, mental health spiraling, and finances a mess. Hunter would look in the mirror and barely recognizing yourself.  He felt powerless in every direction until he realized there was one thing he could control: His health.

What started with dieting and showing up to the gym became the foundation that rebuilt everything else.

What was happening in your life when you started lifting (or taking yourself seriously)?

What wasn’t happening was probably the shorter answer, but in reality, everything was going wrong. My career felt like it was failing, my mental health was plummeting at an even faster rate than usual, and my finances were in shambles. I hated looking in the mirror and seeing how I had failed myself and everyone around me. I felt powerless and unable to control my life. However, I eventually realized that I had control over my health. I began dieting and started going to the gym regularly. Once I took control of that aspect of my life, everything else began to fall into place.

How has Pseudo Force shown up in your life during a hard or challenging season?

I’ve never encountered a bad person wearing Pseudo Force, and I’m certain that when I’m having a bad day or a rough session, the people I see wearing Pseudo Force always show up and show out for EVERYONE around them. Your story is also a huge drive for people, even if you’re not fully aware of it.

Everyone who supports your brand saw the vision in you and the determination in you to keep going, even on challenging days. The quote “You didn’t wake up to be a weak ass bitch” not only has a physical strength meaning, but also the mental toughness to just keep fucking grinding and pushing.

When you feel like giving up, what do you say to yourself?

If I were to be honest with myself, I might be forced to take a vacation with some medication. However, on my truly challenging days when I feel like giving up and throwing in the towel, I’ve learned to pause life and take a step back.

I focus on the people around me, realizing that every single person has experienced both bad and good days. They made it through these challenges, so why should I give up when I’ve come so far? “What if it all works out” has been my mantra for several years now.

Who cares if things don’t go as planned? Just reset and keep going, because if you give up you’ll never know.

What are you currently working on?

Currently, I’m working on my first-ever short film. Outside of the gym, photography and videography are two of my passions. Inside the gym, I’m training for my first powerlifting meet of the year, hoping to recover from my ankle injury in time to compete in may!

Hi Hunter. Love that “what if it all works out?” resonates with you, and thank you for bravely sharing your story! My internal thought I have on repeat these days is “you worry a lot for someone who has never met a situation you couldn’t figure out” (in different PG v R rating edits!) Cheers to you.
